Peer Support

“Self love, self care, and self actualization are all things you need for yourself but that does not mean that you have to do it by yourself”

No one can do it alone, but in addition studies have shown that one of the determining factors between who makes it to the other side is depending on if the individual has a person in their life who has walked the path of the journey the individual is on at this point in time.

A “professional friend” in a time of need is what we offer with our one on one services.

Each professional friend comes equipped with a variety of specialties

• Specializes with a deep knowledge of the current mental health system, public and private sector.
• Specializes in the holistic approach with multiple models that are applicable to each unique circumstance.
• Specializes in all of the top of the line crisis intervention support and continued support including but not limited to: Emotional CPR, Person Centered Support, Trauma Informed Support, Recovery Oriented Support

• Suicide 
  • Sometimes even to live is an act of courage - Lucius Annaeus Seneca - We provide services in the areas including but not limited to: Suicidal ideations, intent, history of attempt
• Self harm
  • “There is no bitter sweet feeling like the one when the white turns red” -Unknown source - Self Harm does not by no means indicate suicidal ideation and we reflact that in the services we provide to the wide range of intersectional circumstances.
• Addiction
  • “There is no drug on earth that can make life meaningful” - Heard in the rooms - There is no one way that fits all and the same applies to the disease itself. We offer a way out, from alcohol to narcotics, at all levels, in any circumstance   
• Other 
  • We recognize that there is a long list of struggles that are not within the parameters of these crisis intervention services officially offered by Friends Like Family but that does not mean we don't offer a wide range of support services to all unique circumstances.
